It's pumpkin time!

We just LOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEE pumpkin time and think St. Luke's pumpkin patch is THE BEST! The girls each chose their own pumpkin and this weekend we'll finally carve them....I've learned my lesson that if you carve them too soon they'll turn black - ewww! Happy Halloween all! Here are the lil Thompson pumpkins:

Ladies and gents we have a new 2yr old in the house!

The littlest Thompson gal just turned 2! She had a zoorific birthday at the Houston Zoo and had such much fun with her friends, family and of course all the zoo animals. Really though, her favorite part was the cupcakes. She is such a lil cupcake monster. From the moment she walked in the room, she went past the decorations, didn't notice the gifts and headed straight to the cupcakes...who could blame the girl!

After she finally got her cupcake...actually she ate 2 in honor of her 2nd birthday, we headed to the carousel. She LOVED in and we loved watching her take it all in.

Thanks to all for the amazing birthday gifts. Little Sam no longer has to borrow her big sisters' dress up clothes, baby items and barbies - she now has her very own!

And she even has her own KITCHEN! Can you tell she loves it?! Sweet little muffin - she's amazing, is talking a TON now and keeps everyone on their toes. Happy Birthday Samantha!!!!!

What a wonderful world...

Louis' Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" closed out our little kindergartener's end of year school program. Isn't that cute? Little Miss Mia did awesome! A big smile has replaced the tears that we saw for 2 years in a row at school programs. I think the phrase "practice makes perfect" truly helped her this time around. For days now she's been singing all the songs in preparation for today....some friends even got a special preview as she sereneded us after dinner on Saturday. Here are just a few pics from the performance. Enjoy! I can't believe she's going to 1st grade next year - CRAZY!

Happy Birthday Mia!

We now have a big 6 year old in our household...Mia entered into another new year last week and we pray it will bring more fun and joy with each day. Now these are not the best pics b/c I took them on my phone - but you get the gist. We started off the day opening gifts and you might be able to tell she was just a little excited ;)

At school her class made her a birthday crown and she got to wear a special birthday ribbon. She loved that too!

She was spoiled with lots of hugs, calls and well wishes from family and friends...and finally got to top festivities off with a bowling birthday extravaganza...pics coming tonight!

Happy Birthday to our sweet girl!

Happy Birthday Morgan!

Morgan is 3! She is definitely all things that goes with three - silly, independent, curious, funny, loving...just so many things wrapped into one pistol of a little girl. She started her day off with a special breakfast with just her and daddy...shipley's of course! The celebration continued at school where she was very happy to share homemade sugar-free cupcakes (per school's request) with her friends...We wrapped up the day with dinner at chuck-e-cheese - whew was she pooped! She was smiling the whole day long...with minimal fussing only due to tiredness. Tomorrow is her party with friends at Build-a-bear - should be more fun! Happy Birthday to our sweet bundle of energy and love Morgan!

Sam is a ROCK STAR!

Sweet Sam had an awful accident last Thursday night. While playing outside with her sisters in our backyard the next door neighbor's dog was barking away, little Sam bent down to see what all the noise was and stuck her finger in the fence. Unfortunately, the dog bit off the tip of her finger. Thankfully my dear friend Rachel was there and took care of calling 911, calming down the girls and telling me how to wrap Sam's finger/keep it up while I was tending to Sam. She was truly a God-sent in the most traumatic situation! After hours at the ER, Sam was all stitched up and we came home. Since then, she's back to running around with her brightly pink bandaged hand as if nothing happened. I'm amazed at her resilience. Just look at her little smiling face...absolutely astonishing. Lord knows, I would not be so happy if put in the same situation. Sweet girl!

WHAT?!

Here's a conversation we had yesterday....
Morgan (in bathroom, she's doing GREAT with potty training) - mommy, i need toilet paper

Mia (in kitchen close to bathroom and yells) - just use the towel

Mom (in kitchen) - WHAT!?! as i'm walking to the bathroom with new roll. What do you mean use the towel Mia? as i'm walking into bathroom i see lovely hand towel sitting on toilet - not on rack as its supposed to be. Mia, did you use this towel to clean your bootie?!

Mia - well ya

Mom - NO MORGAN (as she's reaching for it) DO NOT USE THAT TOWEL. Mia we do not use hand towels to wipe our booties - let me know if you need more toilet paper.

So a) i have no idea how long paper has been out in that bathroom and b)if you've been to our house in the past 2 days - i really hope you didn't use the towel on the toilet to wipe your hands :)

Below is a pic of Mia pulling Sam around the house....just another insight into our daily madness and fun!

Rodeo days!

Yee-haw! We spent a gorgeous Sunday at the rodeo yesterday! We all loaded up and hit the rodeo first thing. All had a great time! I think the big girls enjoyed the rides the most while lil Sam loved her time with the animals at the petting zoo. So cute!

Let's try this

Sooo, clearly I'm behind on my blogging. Here's what I'm going to try to do instead - post random little pics/happenings rather than a whole bunch of pics at once. I got this shot last night:
They huddled up to take a pic for Mat who is out of town on business. All I said was let's send Daddy a pic and they grabbed each other so they could send him hugs. How cute is that?! They really can be sweet and there are small glimpses of them playing together - which is SO nice. Of course there are the daily fights too but hey - i'll take what i can get!

Good Lord what were we thinking?!

So once again, we headed out of town after Christmas...gluttons for punishment ;) We (my whole immediate family, plus parents, sis/niece and aunt) headed to the beautiful, very snowy and cold Steamboat Springs, CO. The big girls were great on the flight, sweet Sam threw a massive tantrum and almost put her mom into a major anxiety attack. But once we landed all was well and the real fun began...she even liked getting bundled up!

Morgan was super happy to see the snow too...she didn't mind the hats, gloves, boots etc...and really was smiles for most of the time unless she had to share toys with her cousin and nemesis Olivia :) Both Morgan and Sam were in child care for 2 days, which they really seemed to like.
Mia did hit ski school and did AWESOME. She sure hated layering on the clothes but was so super excited after her first day (pic below) and loved the second day too. If we would have stayed one more day, I would have taken her down easy slope with me. I so very much look forward to ski with her and all the girls!

After coming off the mountain and its zero degree weather, we felt like we deserved a hot toddie...Mia had hot chocolate, Marcie and I something a bit stronger. Cheers to us and a great trip despite lots of whining and NOISE. Ski clothes, can't wait to use you again!

I'll add more pics later especially of sledding - which was fun for all! Thanks mom/dad for another amazing family trip! Oh, I promise Christmas pics will be coming soon...such a fun time with little ones!
