Tis the Season

Wow, only 4 days left until Christmas - the Thompson girls are BEYOND excited! We've been celebrating the holiday season for weeks now and I'm just now getting around to putting up some pics of our fun. Thought I'd start with pictures from our annual holiday brunch - enjoy!

Yea for fall and pumpkins!

We headed out for our annual pumpkin patch trip this weekend. What a fun way to spend my birthday afternoon! The Ellises were in town (DOUBLE YEA!) and Tripp joined us to pick out some special pumpkins to take back to San Antonio. This was the first time all three girls were able to walk around and enjoy the pumpkins...last year Sam just a month old and the year before Morgan was only 6 months...isn't that CRAZY!!!!!!! You can tell by the girls smiles that they had loads of fun and let me tell you they are VERY proud of the pumpkins they picked out all by themselves. Now all we have to do is carve them....whew, that sounds like a lot of work! Happy Fall all!

Happy Birthday Sam!

Here's our sweet one year old!!!!!!!!!! On Friday, her actual birthday we did a small little family night...which started with some gifts. So what do you get a 3rd daughter who has more toys than she'll ever need?!?!? SHOES of course!

She seemed to like them and we did get her some bath toys because even though our house rivals Toys R Us - it is nice for her to get something new all her own....side note, Morgan and Mia have totally been hogging them in the bath! Poor girl!

And big drum roll.....................................she's walking! That's right - lil Sam started cruising around all by herself earlier in the week. And just like her big sisters - on her birthday she was walking all over. Mostly just a few steps at a time but we still consider her a walker now!

The celebrations continued through the weekend! Here are some shots of her with her cupcake. Now, Morgan didn't really do the make -mess-with-the-cupcake thing b/c she didn't seem to like it. But WHOA - Sam was not the same....she LOVED it.

You can't tell it from this pic - but by the time she was done she had it all up her arms, in her hair and none was left! She did a good job finishing it ALL BY HERSELF!
She is the truest blessing...as are all our girls! Thank you all for your birthday wishes for our dear baby girl!

And now it's Morgan's turn!

Today Morgan went to her first day of school! She's in a 2-day a week program at a school near our house from 8:30 to 2:30. SUCH A BIG GIRL! Last week we did open house and she was none to happy about being dropped off at play area while the parent's had an info meeting. Tears GALORE! So you could imagine the anxiety I was feeling as we headed to her school this morning - fortunately she was all smiles!

And when we left her in her class room with her nice teachers - she immediately grabbed some toys....and her blankie too and went to work. Now, we DO NOT typically allow our sweet girl to drag her blankie around with her in public but since she'll be taking naps at school it goes with her. I seriously hope she didn't have it with her all day long...but at this point, if it makes her happy and feel comfortable then to heck with our normal rules.

Mia said this morning as I dropped her off at school, I bet Morgan's going to fight a lot. I said, yes honey...that's ALL of our fear. But YEA FOR MORGAN - she's finally in school!!! Now hopefully, she'll learn to fight less and share more!

Kindergarten here she comes!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's our sweet kindergartener on her first day of school!!!!!!! Complete with her new digs/backpack (thanks Buela!) and new lunchbox/water bottle (thanks Grandmom!), she was set for the day.

Being the proud new kindergarten parents, Mat and I both escorted her to her brand new school. She was super excited and honestly I think I was the most nervous. She was super shy at the school's welcome party last week so I was nervous there would be tears.

Thankfully she was all smiles, even as goodbyes were said, and she had an EXCELLENT first day. In fact she's had a pretty great first week and seems to really like her new school. She didn't like a girl who wanted to use her blanket during nap time yesterday but fortunately the teacher settled that one and Mia survived her first little "bully" moment. Whew! So much fun ahead!

moving and cruisin

Well - we now have THREE mobile little ones at the house. Mia is of course full speed ahead, with Morgan following her every move...and now we have Sam hot on their tails. She started crawling a few weeks ago and now is FAST on the go!

In fact, she's recently mastered standing and just yesterday took a few VERY little steps while

Mia is SUCH the great big sis watching over her along the way - Sam's so lucky to have her!

Yea Summer!

We took our first splash in the pool yesterday. It was a bit cold but we all got use to it pretty quickly and the girls had a blast. This was Sam's first time in a swimsuit and first time to take a dip. She LOVED it!

Also....today she turned 8 months! Sweet girl...she's getting up on all fours and I'm sure will be crawling within the month. She also has a tooth now (bottom) and the other one should be breaking through soon.

More fun times ahead!

Happy 2nd Birthday Morgan!

Today, our sweet girl is 2 years old! Almost daily she makes us roll with laughter and frustrated with tantrums as only toddlers can. She loves Dora and Yo Gabba Gabba, dressing up, sliding down slides that are far too high for her and is overall quite the dare devil much to her poor mom's dislike.

She doesn't seemed phased by her baby sister Sam...and I can often find her hugging the baby and giving her kisses. Now she just needs to learn to hug gently...I'm constantly saying "awwwwwww, that's sweet but let go!" She loves her big sister and equally loves picking on her. Mia is far better in dealing with her lil sister's antics than I could ever ask for. In fact, I'm trying to teach her to say "NO - MORGAN!" and she's getting good at it but Morgan thinks its soooooo funny when Mia says stop!

We're happy to finally communicate with her through words....we can understand most everything she says and if we can't we ask her to say it again and point to whatever she wants. We really need to video tape our little conversations because they're a hoot. One of her favorite things to say is "that's funny!" Which is cute but not so much so when we're getting after her.

She's just our rough and tough little girl who fills our hearts with so much joy. We're amazingly blessed to have such a healthy and happy little toddler. Here are some pics from her little party at the park and other recent fun times.
Yea I'm 2!

Sam's 6 Months!

Whew - that went by crazy fast. Our sweet Sam is now 6 months old! She can sit up all by herself, giggles and babbles lots, and is even showing signs of teething. She's eating solids now and continues to capture all of our hearts with her sweet disposition! We are so very blessed to have 3 healthy and happy little girls!

Spring Break!!

Wow! It's been an exciting Spring Break! We headed to San Antonio last Saturday to spend time with our dear friends the Ellises and Runges. We lucked out with great weather and had the best time! We hit the Botanical Gardens where the kids got to play with the fountains, ducks and even were able to fly kites! If you haven't been before, you need to try and make it over there - it's just beautiful!

The Ellises welcomed our whole troop into their house and it was spending time together while the kids played and played in their beautiful back yard. Even Sammie loved being out there!

We got to see Dana, Eric and Lawson and had the best barbecue, thanks Will for the AWESOME food! Dana gets the golden star for keeping up with the kiddos. She had them playing ring around the rosies, duck-duck-goose and chase. Her energy amazes me - its gotta be the pilates!

All was going great until Mia took fell and landed on her arm wrong. After a quick trip to the ER, seriously under 2 hours!, we found out she fractured her right upper arm and then she got to pick out her lovely PINK cast. She's such a trooper and really is doing great. Even though we ended our trip on a low note - we had so much fun for the majority of time that we were there!

Cruisin through February

Sam is 5 months old and her big sisters are closing in on turning 5 and 2 respectively. WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?! In the immediate pic above, Mia's all dressed up to celebrate the Chinese New Year at school.

The past weekend was a doosey for us - all three girls were sick, BLAH!!!!!!! Mia started with a stomach bug and strep on Friday and Morgan/Sam started with their stomach bugs on Saturday. Seriously a nasty weekend but again - we're just crusin through and praying it's all past us soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arts n Crafts

What a fun Valentines! Daddy helped with arts and crafts, the girls got lots of fun goodies and we spent the day with Grandmom Paula - how lucky we are!
